Cargill Currents is a Global Water Challenge and Cargill partnership platform that works to address water challenges and advance water security in priority communities and basins around the world.

The program advances water security, promotes economic development, and delivers multiple socio-economic and sustainability co-benefits, including improved community health, improved farmer livelihoods, women’s empowerment, and community resilience to climate change.

IMPACT

Through 2025, Cargill Currents has reached more than 150,000 people with improved access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services across Cargill’s priority communities. The program has also advanced the empowerment of over 60,000 women by creating time savings, building skills, and supporting income-generating opportunities.

In addition, the partnership is driving measurable environmental benefits:

  • 2,738 hectares committed to regenerative agriculture practices
  • 1,214 hectares across four floodplains rehabilitated, strengthening watershed health and resilience
  • 52.3 hectares of land under improved management
  • 9.3 kilometers of river habitat restored
  • 2 micro wetlands restored across 4.8 hectares

Together, these efforts are helping protect vital water resources, strengthen community well-being, and promote long-term sustainability in the regions where Cargill operates.
