Leonela Hernández Romero
Leonela Hernández Romero is a professional specializing in project management, monitoring and evaluation, sustainable development, and social impact data.
She supports initiatives that promote social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment, strengthening accountability and evidence-based decision-making for organizations working across Latin America.
Her professional experience spans civil society organizations, international development institutions, and the private sector. She has supported social and environmental programs in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Colombia, working closely with corporate sustainability teams, international donors, and local stakeholders. Her work includes managing and analyzing impact data, coordinating donor reporting processes, and developing digital tools and dashboards to track results in areas such as youth employability, recycling, eco-efficiency and human rights.
Currently, Leonela collaborates with the Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF) and Global Water Challenge (GWC), where she manages regional sustainability data systems and supports the visualization and communication of impact for recycling and environmental initiatives across Latin America. Previously, she served as Project Management and Monitoring Specialist at FUNDEMAS, leading institutional monitoring efforts and overseeing multiple sustainability projects. She has also contributed to rigorous impact evaluations with TechnoServe in partnership with Stanford University.
Leonela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business from Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios (ESEN) in El Salvador and an International Management and Leadership Certificate from CUOA Foundation in Italy. She also has specialized training in sustainability standards, monitoring and evaluation methodologies, and digital tools for social impact measurement.
