Business for Health Access (BHA) is a public-private partnership coalition that works directly with Ministries of Health to strengthen public health systems by embedding private-sector capabilities into government-led HIV prevention programs.
Managed by GETF, which provides strategic advisory, program design, project management and grants administration, the BHA partnership coalition includes the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the Gates Foundation, Johnson & Johnson and Project Last Mile.
The BHA model focuses on making catalytic investments in existing government assets, supported by structured public-private partnerships that leverage best practices and tools from private sector companies. This approach enables the program to strengthen health systems while ensuring sustainability and scalability through government ownership.
Since launching in 2023, BHA has implemented seven projects across Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, Mozambique and Kenya, engaging over 20 local and global private sector partners with expertise in marketing, supply chain, digital and AI and market research.
