Building Water Security and Resilience across Africa
The Africa Water Stewardship initiative advances water security by restoring and protecting critical watersheds and expanding access to water and sanitation services in vulnerable basins and communities.
Launched in September 2024 by the Coca-Cola Africa Operating Unit and bottling partners, this collective action program is led by GWC and implemented by a consortium of partners. The initiative builds on The Coca-Cola Foundation (TCCF)’s highly impactful Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN), a decade-long program that positively impacted over seven million people through WASH and other water-related initiatives.
The Africa Water Stewardship Initiative has launched 10 projects across nine countries and established a collective action platform to mobilize additional stakeholders and resources across critical basins throughout the continent.
